Radio Interoperability Systems

Radio interoperability systems allow you to cross-connect different two-way radio networks, connect those networks to telephone or satellite systems, or network RoIP/VoIP talkpaths. SIP-based interoperability is now available to digitally converge existing radio systems with SIP telephones, networks, and devices.

St. Louis County in Missouri recently rolled out a plan to bring more than 150 agencies and organizations under a "single radio umbrella" and gave them the ability to directly communicate with each other. "Every emergency response agency in the region will be able to speak to one another 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in any conditions," says Charlie Dooley, the top executive for the county. "When you're reacting to an emergency or disaster, timely communication between agencies can mean the difference between life and death."
