The automatic battery backup system is critical to the repeater’s performance, too. The Icom IC-FR3000 unit features a built-in power supply unit (100–120V or 220–240V AC). This enables automatic switching to an external power supply (13.6V DC) should the AC power supply fail. This keeps your communication pathways intact at all times.

The Icom IC-FR3000 comes with an internal space to install a duplexer and isolator. The controls for the duplexer are easy to get to from the front of the repeater without disassembly. This makes for faster and easier maintenance and adjustment when needed.

The 16-digit alphanumeric LCD display clearly shows the channel number, channel name, and decoded ID (with 2-tone and DTMF). This is great for use as a base station. The user can control the repeater from a remote location over the air or over a phone line with the DTMF feature.
