Callboxes
There is great flexibility when using callboxes. If you have several units in use, and it is necessary to know the location of the unit calling in, then the callbox can transmit a unique numeric identifier to a radio that can then translate and decode this identifier. This allows for greater safety and better management of your system.
About Callboxes from BearCom
A unique numeric identifier is like having a telephone with caller ID capability. Even commercial intercoms and two-way radios can have the decode ability, and they can be programmed to the same frequencies as your callboxes. You can also add a motion detector or other detection device so you can be alerted when the device is activated.
Additional Information about Callboxes
When the detection status changes, a tone or voice alert is sent. This alert will be resent up to five times if the alert is not immediately answered. An external sensor can also be used to put your callboxes in full power-up mode when someone is detected near the box. You can then place a call to the box and listen to what’s happening around it.
More Data about Callboxes
All models possess a low battery alert or external power failure tone that is sent to the monitoring portable radio or base intercom. Selective calling of individual callboxes or a group of callboxes is accomplished by a paging feature. There is also a busy channel feature that prevents someone from transmitting if the radio channel is in use.
